We took Nolan to the physiatrist today for his quarterly appointment. He said that Nolan was a completely different child physically than he was three months ago. He said that he could not believe how much he has improved. He said that his prognosis for him has changed signficantly for the better. He encouraged us to allow him to walk which is slightly contrary to our therapist's advice, but we feel comfortable with him walking as it keeps his hamstrings loose. The doctor said he had great range of motion and did not feel any tightness in his knees, hips or ankles. It was great, great news to hear. He said that Nolan could go forward with his theratogs suit, he has seen mixed results from it. He does believe that a little of everything has contributed to his success: night brace, day braces, therapy, ultrasound and activity. We knew that he was doing exceptionally well, but it's nice to hear it from the doctor. We look forward to Nolan gaining more strength and agility and walking full time soon.
His language has really been picking up and he is signing more frequently. I love to listen to him jabber all night. And, his singing is heavenly :o) except when he sings, "merrily, merrily, merrily". He sings it about three octaves higher than he should. It is so cute, but ear piercing. Ha, ha, ha.
